Clay School!
A perfect way to spend a couple of hours being creative. Informal, fun, small groups. I will introduce you to the basics of hand building with clay, and show you the many ways in which you can decorate using slip, which is a coloured liquid clay.
• What's involved?
In these classes, you will first be given a slab of clay to cut out a couple of large coasters/tile which you can then use to experiment with the different coloured slips and mark making tools. Once you have got the hang of it, I will show you how to make a nest of bowls using the pinch pot method. We will then apply slip and once dried we can decorate the pots with your chosen mark making techniques.
After the workshop, I will fire your pieces and finish them with a transparent glaze. You can then collect them from me or have them posted back to you for a small fee.
Limited group sizes of 6-8 people will allow for plenty 1-1 tuition. I will give you a tour of my studio and there will be an opportunity to buy some of my pieces from my small shop here in Rosemains Steading.

Lots of hands on experience in the workshop. Making / Choosing (depending on which workshop you are going to) and decorating your pieces with your own choice of glaze and having as much fun as possible in the time we have!

If you are attending one of my festive classes we will glaze in the class and I will post you out your finished glazed design or you can come and collect from he workshop.
If you are coming to Clay School you have the option of coming back the following week to decorate your fired pieces. This will be a 1.5-hour session. The glaze session is included in the cost. Alternatively, you can let me know your colour choices and I can glaze them for you.

Rosemains Steading is in Pathhead and is super easy to find on google maps. There is free parking at the studio. Once you arrive, simply follow the signs for Ella Fletcher Designs!
